Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate. This is your chance to be heard —to improve your community and our region —to make them what you want them to become. Participants will share opinions, outline their vision for the future, generate possibilities, initiate projects, and open leadership opportunities. These events continue the Convention for the Future process, a broad cooperative effort by diverse individuals and groups to develop our region. David Beurle, founder and principal of Innovative Leadership Australia, will lead these programs. Beurle is a regional community and economic development expert with experience across the United States and around the world. Admission is free. The effort to align our region for an extraordinary future through the
Convention for the Future process was launched at MVCC in Utica in
January 2006. More than 500 residents participated. Participants heard case studies and compared our strengths and weaknesses to the top 10 attributes of successful regional communities. Our region was judged high on:
