The Mohawk Valley is now home to the Art on the Run project, which has brought the first two of many brightly decorated sculptures of runners to locations all across the region.

These sculptures will also bring our area into a highly successful nation wide initiative that promotes community development through dramatic street art. Art on the Run is spearheaded by a group of area runners, artists, and individuals inspired by Breakthrough Central New York.

The “Chicago Cows,” “Buffalo Bison” and “Saratoga Horses” are a few examples of sculpture forms that have inspired a sense of pride and regional connection in other communities. Art on the Run will be the first in the nation to use the runner form as a blank canvas to tie together the arts, health and fitness, and the support of our local businesses and communities. In five years it will be impossible to drive through our community without seeing one of these runners in a store window, on a home owner’s porch, or a city monument!
