The 1999 Chicago Pier Walk Show was the fifth year of
this show and
is claimed to be the largest outdoor sculpture show in the
world. In 1998 Pier Walk '98 had 171
monumental outdoor pieces by artists from 9 countries. It was expected
that 7 million people would visit Pier Walk '98 during its 6 month
duration.
The 1999 show had 115 sculptures and featured a piece over 100 feet
long by the celebrated English sculptor Sir Anthony Caro.

On November 8th and 9th, 1999 "Fathers and
Sons" was moved to The
Wandell Sculpture Garden at Meadowbrook Park in
Urbana, Illinois and is now part of their permanent collection. Also see photos of the move .
