"Fathers and Sons" © 1999

This sculpture celebrates relationship and community. It symbolizes the support structure provided by fathers upon which
their
sons can play, grow and become men. |

After being
on display on Chicago's Navy Pier for 6 months as part of Pier Walk
'99, it was moved to the Wandell Sculpture Garden in
Meadowbrook Park in Urbana, IL. It is now part of the permanent collection.

A paved path runs beside McCoullough Creek
and "Fathers and Sons" which carries joggers, skateboarders,
rollar bladers, cyclists and walkers into the landscape of prarie grasses,
wildflowers, wildlife viewing areas and a variety of contempory sculpture.
Across the creek is a wonderful playground which is based on the ideas
submitted by local children. |
